What’s the best time of day to take CBD oil?
There’s a lot of debate about what time of day is best to take CBD oil. While there are those that suggest starting your day with CBD is the best way, there are benefits to taking it before you go to bed too.
Deciding whether to take your CBD oil with your breakfast, spread it out in smaller doses throughout the day, or as part of your bedtime routine, will really depend on your reasons for taking it.

What does Full Spectrum CBD oil contain?
Full Spectrum CBD contains much more of the natural compounds of the cannabis plant. You can expect to find:
Cannabinoids
The cannabis plant contains over 100 cannabinoids. These include CBD, CBDa, CBG and THC. These compounds are what give cannabis both its therapeutic and psychoactive (in the case of THC) effects. By not over-processing the cannabis oil, more of these natural compounds are retained in the resulting CBD oil.
Terpenes
CBD terpenes are natural compounds found in the flowers and buds of cannabis flowers. There are over 150 of these in the hemp plant, and generally affect the plant’s fragrance. For example, Limonene is what gives citrus plants their fresh fragrance, and Linalool is found in lavender.
Flavonoids
These are present in all kinds of fruits and vegetables and are believed to protect against inflammation and to be powerful antioxidants. The cannabis plant has around 20 different flavonoids.
Do Full Spectrum CBD oils produce the ‘entourage effect’?
You might hear something called the ‘entourage effect’ being discussed when talking about Full and Broad Spectrum CBD products.
This is something that happens when different cannabinoids in a CBD oil work together in synergy. Because Full and Broad Spectrum oils contain more of the hemp plant’s natural cannabinoids, it is believed that these kinds of oils can produce a more beneficial effect.
This is due to the various cannabinoids working together; creating an effect that is greater than any of the active ingredients are capable of creating on their own.
What is CO2 extracted CBD oil?
A process that uses pressurised carbon dioxide to pull the cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils out of the cannabis plant, CO2 extraction creates a pure, clean oil.
Typically the oil extracted this way doesn’t need as much post-processing, and no toxic solvents are used in the process either.

How to Use
“Start low and slowly grow” is the key to starting your CBD journey. This will allow you to slowly build up your endocannabinoid system and fully realise your sweet spot. Your endocannabinoid system works on a bell curve and if you take too much at once then you can go over the curve and overload which could result in having the opposite effect of what you’re hoping to achieve.
This is a rough guide only as each of us is different and unique. A slow approach may be more beneficial to you and increase fortnightly instead. The time frames below are examples, but a good guide to how dosing is recommended.
